According to one version, the perfume Mitsouko got its name in honor of a beautiful Japanese woman - the main heroine of Claude Farrère's novella "La Bataille". After the presentation of this perfume in 1919, many European fashionistas, appreciating its mysterious and enigmatic scent, became interested in Japanese culture and traditions.
The initial citrus notes of bergamot intertwine with the dense floral aromas of noble rose and pure white jasmine, which slightly recede into the background, allowing the heart notes of lilac, peach, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and rose to come forward. The base notes include amber, cinnamon, oak moss, and vetiver, which create a subtle trail, enveloping the wearer.
The perfume, like a veil of mystery. It is difficult to separate and highlight any main notes of the composition, they all harmoniously merge into a beautiful perfumery symphony.
